Silchar: A tourist identified as Deepanshu Sangwan aka Nomadic Indian recently shared his experience after visiting Silchar in a vlog, which quickly went viral on social media. In the video, he described Silchar as “the most dirty town,” prompting a wave of mixed reactions from the social media users.
He visited Silchar while coming from Mizoram and shared his experience of Silchar while he was in Haflong.
Apart from the concerns about cleanliness, the tourist also highlighted the severe traffic congestion in Silchar. He mentioned of an incident where Google Maps led him into a no-entry zone, leaving him stuck in traffic. Expressing frustration in his video, he describes the chaotic traffic conditions, stating that vehicles were moving in all directions and overtaking without any regulation.
Despite his criticisms, the tourist acknowledged Silchar’s potential for growth and development. He urged the local residents to take advantage on these opportunities and work toward making the Silchar town a model city in Northeast.
Tourist Criticizes Silchar’s Cleanliness and Traffic
Addressing the lack of proper traffic management, he ask the local residents to demand action from elected MLAs and MPs. He specifically pointed out the absence of traffic signals, urging local residents to ask authorities to install red and green lights to improve road safety and ease traffic flow.
He also encouraged the people of Silchar to push their leaders to take responsibility for keeping the traffic free and congestion free. However, he clarified that his remarks were not meant to offend anyone and urged his viewers from Silchar not to get offended by his criticism.
Towards the end of the clip, the tourist lightheartedly remarked that after leaving Silchar, his vehicle had never looked so clean and well-maintained.
