Gunotsav Gone Wrong, Student Injured, Headmaster Arrested
Silchar: A class 7 student was critically injured in an alleged attack by his headmaster at an MV School in Banskandi during the ongoing Gunotsav program. The victim, Sahid Ahmed, received nine stitches for a severe cut on his wrist and is currently hospitalized.
Eyewitnesses claim Headmaster Badar Uddin Mazumder placed a paper cutter blade near Sahid’s throat. In an attempt to save himself, Sahid sustained a severe cut to his wrist. Classmates said that the headmaster Mazumder threatened to behead Sahid before the injury occurred, and that the cut was so intense that Sahid’s veins were visible.

Headmaster Arrested After Student Injured in Banskandi School
Sahid’s family took him to a nearby hospital, and his father filed a complaint against headmaster Badar Uddin at the Banskandi Police Station. Police promptly came to the school and arrested the accused headmaster Badar Uddin.
The accused Badar Uddin denies all the allegations against him. He said that he intervened in a fight between students and the injury was accidental. He further added that he had a paper cutter to open question paper envelopes and also he took Sahid to a local pharmacy for first aid after the unfortunate incident.
The unfortunate event took place in Banskandi school while Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu was visiting the schools in the Cachar district as part of the Gunotsav program. People awaits a response from the Minister Pegu. However, the police arrested the accused and investigation is uder the process.
