Cachar District Administration Implements Key Road Safety Measures
Silchar: The Public Works Department (PWD) in collaboration with the Cachar District Administration has implemented a series of road safety measures across the district to enhance the road user experience and reduce accidents.
These initiatives aim to improve traffic movement, increase visibility, and provide clear guidance to both drivers and pedestrians. Several key improvements have been made across multiple locations:
- Traffic signals installed at critical intersections to regulate traffic flow and minimize congestion. Speed bumps strategically placed in various locations to encourage drivers to reduce speed, particularly in high-risk areas.
- Reflective boards installed to improve visibility, especially during nighttime or adverse weather conditions, making it easier for drivers to navigate safely. Retro-reflective Pavement Markers (RPMs) implemented to guide drivers, particularly in low-visibility situations.
- Road signage erected at multiple locations to provide clear traffic instructions and warnings to drivers and pedestrians. Legal speed limit indicators installed to remind drivers of the appropriate speed. T-junction signs strategically placed to clearly mark intersections and prevent confusion.
The Cachar District Administration’s initiative focused on creating a safer environment for all road users. These measures represent a proactive approach to preventing accidents and promoting road safety throughout the district.
