Silchar: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Cachar Police seized 98,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 30 crore. Cachar Police carried out a special anti-narcotics operation in Chandrapur Part II of Kakmara, under Lakhipur Police Station jurisdiction.
Acting on a tip-off, the police launched an anti-narcotics operation. Cachar Police successfully confiscated the illegal drugs during the operation.

Also, the Cachar Police recovered Rs 3.5 lakh in cash from the arrested suspect. Police arrested a suspect in connection with the drugs trafficking. Cachar Police Reaffirmed their commitment in combating drug trafficking in the Barak Valley. Also, Cachar Police assured residents of their continuous efforts to make state of Assam drug-free.
Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media to share details about the special operation. He praised the efforts of Cachar Police in combating drug trafficking in the region.
The Cachar Police is conducting more frequent anti-narcotics operations in the Barak Valley to make the region free of drug trafficking.
He also commended Assam Police for their continuous operations against drug trafficking across the state.
