Devotees Gather at Bhuvan Pahar Temple Ahead of Maha Shivratri

Silchar: Devotees from various locations of the valley have started to gather at the Mahadev Baba Temple located in Bhuvan Pahar in excitement of Maha Shivratri, which will be celebrated on 26th February 2025. This major Hindu festival honors Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, falling on the 14th day of the dark half of the lunar month of Phalguna or Megha, according to the Hindu calendar.

On the eve of the festival, devotees are already arriving at the temple situated on the hilltop of Bhuvan Pahar. Reports indicate that numerous visitors from various locations have begun to make their way to the temple, drawn by the spiritual significance of the occasion.

Bhuvan Pahar Temple Buzzing with Devotion Ahead of Maha Shivratri

The atmosphere at the Bhuvan Baba Temple is filled with spiritual warmth as devotees engage in rituals and prayers, seeking Lord Shiva’s blessings. The area around the temple is vibrant with religious chants, the scent of incense, and an overall sense of devotion. This has created a sacred environment ahead of the auspicious night of Maha Shivratri, which will be observed on Wednesday.

Cachar Police officials led by SP Cachar Numal Mahatta, visited Bhuvan Pahar to inspect the temple’s preparations for the event. A discussion was held with the Bhuvan Temple committee to ensure proper security measures are in place. Reports suggest that the Bhuvan Baba Temple attracts approximately 6 to 7 lakh devotees each year during Maha Shivratri which highlights the festival’s significance in the valley.
