Issues a Notice Against the Illegal Footpath Encroachments
Silchar: The Silchar Municipal Board has issued a strict notice addressing the growing problem of illegal footpath encroachments across the Silchar town.
The issue has become a significant concern especially in busy areas like Central Road, Nazirpatty, Rangirkhari Point, Hospital Road, and Sonai Road.
Illegal footpath encroachments have blocked the walkways and causing a serious safety risks to pedestrians, specifically to children and older citizens from across Silchar.
Silchar Municipal Board have announced the below points over the mic:
- The Silchar Municipal Board is conducting announcements across the town to remind citizens not to obstruct footpaths, ensure safe passage for all pedestrians especially children and older citizens.
- Shopkeepers extending their establishments onto footpaths have been urged to comply with municipal regulations. Also suggested to avoid putting shop items on road. The Board also emphasizes the importance of keeping footpath clear for public use.
- Repeated violations will result in fines, and illegal encroachments. Municipal board will remove the extended part without any further notice. The Board has also warned that strict action will be taken against the habitual offenders.
