Karnataka Police Arrests a Man from Sonai on Assaulting 8-yo Girl

Silchar: In a shocking turn of events, Karnataka Police have apprehended a 24-year-old man identified as Imran from his residence in Sonai of Cachar district, on allegations of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl.

The arrest follows a complaint filed in Bengaluru, Karnataka, by a woman who alleges Imran sexually assaulted her daughter. The woman, a resident of Koch Behar, West Bengal, had been working in Bengaluru with her two children. She claims Imran, who introduced himself as unmarried, initiated an affair with her.

According to the woman’s social media posts, Imran took advantage of her absence to assault her daughter before fleeing Bengaluru. She subsequently filed a police complaint, triggering the investigation.

Karnataka Police Arrested a Man from Sonai on Sexual Assault Accusation

Investigations revealed Imran, despite claiming to be single, is married with a three-year-old child and had moved to Bengaluru approximately a year ago in search of job.

On Saturday, Imran returned to his home in New Ramnagar, Sonai. The following day, a joint operation by Karnataka and Assam Police led to his arrest at his residence. He was initially taken to Sonai Police Station.

On Monday, Imran was presented in court. Sources indicate that Karnataka Police will take him into judicial custody. The incident has deeply disturbed residents of Sonai, Cachar.
