Water Level Crosses Warning Level at Annapurna Ghat In Silchar

Silchar: Due to heavy rainfall in Barak Valley for the past 2 days, the water level of Barak river at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar rose to 18.99m at 5am on 1st June 2025. Danger level is marked at 19.83m however, water level at Annapurna Ghat has crossed the warning level of 18.83m at expectedly 5am in the morning on 1st June 2025.

IMD issued red alert for Silchar city for the duration 8.30PM 31st May to 8.30PM 1st June 2025. Warning of a few spells of moderate rain with heavy to extremely heavy rainfall and thunderstorm and lightning is very likely. IMD forecast the impact like water logging, flooding may occur in low-lying areas and occasional reduction in Visibility due to Heavy rainfall. Also, partial damages to vulnerable structures due to wind, rain & uprooting of trees and may led to Temporary disruption of power and municipality services.

IMD forecast suggested people to stay indoors, stay vigilant and avoid unnecessary movement along low-lying areas of Silchar and Water blockage reported at many places in Silchar.

Local weather forecast for Silchar on 31st May 2025 report that maximum temperature recorded 26 degree while minimum temperature recorded 25 degree. Relative humidity recorded at 0830hrs and 1730hrs on 31st May is 98%. Local weather forecast for Silchar on 1st June 2025 is generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) Silchar weather forecast, maximum temperature recorded on 1st of June is 30 degree while minimum temperature is 25 degree. As of 8:25AM 1st June, current temperature is 26 degree real feels like 30 degree and fair air quality.

Water resources department reported Water level at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar rises to 19.31m as of 07:00AM on 1st June 2025 while the danger level is at 19.83metre and as of 08:00AM water level is rises at 19.56m.
